I may be able to add some helpful feedback on the sales challenges part of your post.
It took some serious effort to learn how your product levels worked, what extras I got, etc.
I finally found this information in the help file, kinda buried at the bottom ("license"). Perhaps I overlooked it, but I could not figure this stuff out on your website, where I usually find this type of info (and the most logical place since the buying experience starts and ends there).
Also, I could not figure out how to access this forum. Some posts I could read, and randomly it seemed, some I could not. I could not find a register link/button/option. I did not know that buying the product gave me full access to this forum (until you sent me an automated looking email after I actually purchased the product). The license link in the help file mentioned above doesn't even mention this.
What I am trying to say is that you do not make it easy to buy your product. It is quite easy to download and install and operate! But figuring out what I get if I pay, not so much. I'd say that by comparison your website is navigationally challenged as well. It's not BAD... just not as easy as I would expect from a site selling a single product.
The front page should be "howdy, thanks for stopping by! This is what we sell, this is what it does, this is what you get with the free version, this is what you get if you pay, and here is how much it is. Click here to buy".
But besides all that, the LogiSpehere software kicks ass. It can do some pretty powerful stuff. I also own a Sony RZ50N IP netowrk camera and have been evaluating NVR software. You can't even peek in the window for under $500. And this software has many of the base features of NVR software. Although not as sophisticated with the motion detection or multicam abilities (they can do >20 cams!).
BTW, how do I get the NG version to try out?
