Hi

I wish to be sure about how this camera works for outdoor pics capturing?

I talking about working in bright light, and, it doesn't have focus - so - are pictures of landscape reasonable sharp?

Can I find somewhere pics made with this webcam? (pics, not video streaming...)

Does anybody knows what field of view it haves? (degrees...)

Sorry for asking here about this webcam, but on Logi forum they are more political than useful...

Thanks!

My OrbitMP handles bright lighting very well. It's dim lighting that causes problems. Daylight images are sharp and properly exposed. I'd suggest setting White Balance to "Auto" and setting Flicker Reduction to "Outdoor" for best results.

The lens is fixed-focus as you have mentioned. It seems to have good depth of field - objects from as close as 0.5 meters all the way out to infinity are in good focus.

Note, however, that the Orbit is not fit for permanent outdoor installation. It is NOT water-tight! Also, some parts appear to be made of black PVC plastic, which melts at about 60C. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight could melt it, and also the clear polycarb plastic over the lens will eventually become yellow.

This I can't help you with.

I don't know what it is in degrees. In 35mm SLR camera terms I'd say it looks like about a 40 - 45mm lens. More or less. No "fish eye" effect at all.

Thanks for answering!

We plan to put it behind a window, in shadow.

40-45 mm lens of 35mm SLR is about <50°.

If somebody post links to pictures we will appreciate it!

Or also write some usage experience...

MelvinG -thx once more for all nice answers!

Pictures by the Logitech Orbit (aka Sphere)

There's also a Interface with Light Switch so you can test different lighting conditions.
