Has anyone experimented with using the VLC Media Player (from videolan.org) to watch the MJPG stream produced by AbelCam? If so, I would be interested in hearing about your experiences.
I have not been able to get it to work properly so far. I've gotten as far as seeing the AbelCam "splash screen" followed by a single still-shot from my camera. Player stats indicate that data is being received from AbelCam continuously (as one would expect) but it isn't getting rendered after the first frame. When the player is run with the -vvv switch (very very verbose) it logs endless warnings about late frames. Hmmm.
I assume I'm making some simple error, since I've spent hours searching the videolan forum and docs and found nothing much being said about problems with MJPG.
If anybody has gotten this to work I'd appreciate it if you could post about how you did it!
