Hi,
is Abelcam compatible with Windows XP Pro 64bit? Every time I start the program, I got this error message:
"Error Initializing VideoCapx.ocx
Tryreinstaling Abelcam..."
Then I have the following error:
SmartExceptionsCore.UnhandledExecption @ 3175, offset:2407 (which I send you the Error Report)

Currently AbelCam does not work on 64bit OSs - no matter if XP or Vista.
Check back again in about 3 months or so as we're working on a release which will not depend on VideoCapx.ocx

Development and testing are in progress. If you would like to experiment with pre-releases check the ISSUE TRACKER. You can get a copy of the latest pre-release (2008-04-18) there. It isn't perfect, but I am using it here (on XP 32-bit though) and it's not crashing or killing my system 
You should read the instructions (see the 2.3.1 Release 04-11-2008 thread), but the general idea is to clear your existing configuration (if any) and then add your camera back in, selecting either MontiVision or VisioForge as the "interface". Don't select VideoCapX since we already know it is not 64-bit compatible.
I can't promise that this will work. But it does eliminate VideoCapX which was the main problem on 64-bit. I don't have a 64-bit system here to try it myself, and I'm not sure if SSE has tested on 64-bit yet or not. |
