Hi

I have three identical webcams running with AbelCam. Currently i only need 1 picture pr. camera pr. day, so the application has been setup as performance efficient as i can think of.

-Framerate lowered to 0.1 on all cams
-App running with the messages dialog open, not the camera dialog.
-Save interval set to 86400 (on pr day)
-Pictures are saved locally with caption on (date and time).
-OS: Slimed down Windows XP (lots of services turn off).

Every now and then AbelCam stops updating the preview on cam#0 while the other 2 cams keep running. When i try to turn web#0 offline, i cant put it back online.
After this operation, i cant stop the AbelCam.exe application. I can close the GUI, but the app keeps running.

Only way to stop it, is to reboot the PC.

Any idea why?
There are no error messages in the message dialog.

Up until today i have been running all 3 cams on the same nVidia PCI USB HUB. Now i have moved cam#0 to the onboard Intel USB HUB to see if that makes a difference.

Kasper, please see the Support Page, try to record the problem situation into a debug log and email me the results.

since I made the USB HUB change listed above, the app has been running as expected.
I would like to avoid changing my setup - just to debug a potential problem.
If it appears again, i will try the support pages.

Some USB hubs work better with cameras than others. USB cameras tend to draw a lot of power - some hubs can not handle the load reliably. In my experience, just because a hub says it can supply 500ma (or whatever) doesn't guarantee that that it actually will.
