Use Effects: check this to enable effects
Filter: select a filter from the droplist
Checkboxes / sliders: filter configuration depending on the filter selected
Active Effects: all enabled effects are listed below
Disable all: disable all effects
The Use Effects checkbox is a flag for all effects.
If it is not checked, no effects will be active.
Select effects from the listbox on the left and configure them.
All enabled effects are listed on the right.
