Request for information from Logitech rejected

Last week I went to the Logitech Sales office near here and asked for technical information to be able to support their cameras better with my software.

This is the answer I received:

Dear Mr. Seiz
I have bad news for you.
After some clarifications with our head office in Romanel sur Morges unfortunately I receive the following answer:

Logitech does not and will not provide any information at the moment to support 'non Logitech' software. A SDK as for the older cameras is not planned for the moment. The answer is short and concise and unfortunately final. Repeated time-consuming querying in other cases brought nothing.

I am sorry to be unable to give you a better answer.

I guess I don't need to say that I am dissapointed by this user unfriendly attitude. Please use this forum to express your opinion.

From RonaldoC:
I am also very disappointed with their (Logitech) response. The only reason I had purchase their web cam (Orbit MP) was with the hopes of having an expensive camera that comes with good software especially motion detection software.

This is just my opinion. I run a streaming cam that is on 24/7. I use my broadcast cameras and thought I'd spend the money on a Logitech so I could have a remote camera at an animal den. My initial opinion is that a web cam that costs as much as a good DV camera should have something better than 320x240 resolution. When capturing from the cam, it's a guess as to what it's capturing because of the complete lack of a preview that works with it.

And don't update the software. Well, you can but plan on uninstalling it, restoring the system and reinstalling it to the previous version.

Huh?I can understand Logitech not wanting to commit resources to upgrading the software but why leave customers hanging when someone else is willing to complete the task.
