ftp saves .jpg.tmp files now

Hi

Upgraded to the newest christmas version, all works fine except
ftp does now save the files mostly with the ending xxxxxzzzzzzz.jpg.tmp
( and sometimes .jpg ), files are though ok and complete when i open them.
Before the update all files were saved as *.jpg
Thanks for any info.

Merry Christmas!

Hello Janne

The behaviour of the FTP upload has not been changed.
It always uploads the file to temporary file and renames it to the final name after successful upload.
This avoids third party software displaying partially uploaded images.

I have changed this in the latest release 2007-12-24 - if the destination file does not exist, no temporary file name will be used. This should solve your issue.

when usin ftp upload (same if using timestamp filename) :

Upload to xxxxzzzz.fi failed Chilkatlog:
Getfilename:
Gettin directory contents
pattern: xxxx.jpg
FtpFindFirstFile Failed(1)
lastResponse: 200 Type Set to A
227 Entering Passive mode (194,100,1615,219,46)

Tested with windows ftp and WSFTP and they work ok at the moment

Thanks for any info.

Edit: could this be some problem with the ISP (ftp service) in the
other end maybe ? Will check save some more with other programs.

Maybe you can document this issue as outlined here and/or send me login information for the FTP server which shows this behaviour so I can test from my end?

Hi! ;-)

Maybe I have the wrong syntax for the ftpserver and the directory?!?

FTP Server: "xxxxx.de" or "ftp://xxxxx.de"
Directory: "webpics" or "/webpics/" or "xxxxx.de/webpics"
(without the ")

I tested it with a "fixed file name" and with "time based name".

The images could not be found Sad

The correct syntax for server and path can be found in the help file and the documentation
